Botolphs, Bramber, West Sussex
used to be known as Annington. The pre-Norman church at Annington was dedicated to St Botolph, who was unknown to the Normans. They changed the name to St Peters and the previous church name became the village name. There is still a hamlet called Annington adjacent.
