Show Details Shared Note: - Now I can find John in the 1901 census along with Arthur but not Elizabeth also he has taken a single woman acting as housekeeper with her two daughters. In 1911 John now lists Ellen Collins as his wife and states that they have been married 16 years and she has had 6 children but two have died. I can name 4 of her children, two from the 1901 census, one of which has taken his surname in 1911 and two more from the 1911, but where Elizabeth went after 1891 I don't know. This leads me to suspect that all Ellen's children were fathered by John but they must not of been married in 1901 but could cover it up 10 years later. There is no record of the marriage of John Nelson and Ellen Collins because he had been married before so they must of married in the registry office.
